Trauma, depression, anxiety, and other problems can have a tremendous impact on our ability to be productive and happy. Navigating the process of finding a therapist you can trust, who accepts your insurance or is affordable, and who you “click” with can add additional layers of stress when you are already struggling. Andersonville Psychology seeks to provide as much support as possible during this process whether we end up working together or not.
Andersonville Psychology was founded by Dr. Jonathan Smith with the goals of providing psychological assessment and psychotherapy that is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and affirmative of LGBTQ+ identities.
When you first reach out to Dr. Smith, he will work with you to schedule a free 15-20 minute phone consultation. During this call he will ask questions about what you are hoping to work on, discuss his approach to therapy with you, and give you a chance to ask him any questions. This call will also be a good time to discuss logistical issues such as scheduling, insurance, and fees. During this call, you and Dr. Smith will determine if you might work well together.
If it does not seem like a good fit for any reason, Dr. Smith will do his best to connect you with another professional who will be a better match. If it does seem like a good fit, you and he will schedule an appointment together and he will set you up with an online portal where you can complete some paperwork and manage future appointments.
